The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.     Proverbs 16:4-5

Maybe one of most perplexing questions that human intellect struggles with…… If God is God, why did he create evil?

Satan is evil. God created Satan, so it must be God’s fault that evil and wickedness exist, eh?

If you study the scripture, you will find that God has used evil and wickedness “for himself” since the beginning of time.

For example there is no creature any more wicked that that old serpent and yet God used his lying and conniving ways to reveal the content of Adam and Eve’s heart. Their heart was full of disobedience to the word of God and God allowed Satan to bring forth this truth.

We even find where God used pagan nations and wicked kings that had absolutely no reverence for God. These evil nations were used of God to meet out His judgement on a rebellious, stiff-necked and backslidden people.

One of the greatest and inexplicable examples of this truth is what we see that took place at Calvary. Why would The Creator (God) become a man in order to die for the sin of His creation? Doesn’t make since, but greater yet, that He would let the evil and wicked nail Him to that tree.

It may be that we find the answer in the above scripture taken from Proverbs. God will judge evil and wickedness one day. The evil and wicked acts that God used to birth our salvation will ‘in that day’ be poured out in judgement upon that same evil and wicked unbelieving heart.

God is merciful my friend, but His mercy will not endure forever….

God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked:
